Best And Easy Cinnamon Roll Icing
Ingredients
- Cream cheese: Make sure it’s softened to room temperature for a smooth, creamy texture that blends easily.
- Salted butter: Adds richness and a hint of salt that perfectly balances the sweetness of the icing.
- Powdered sugar: Gives the icing its signature sweetness and velvety consistency.
- Vanilla extract

How To Make Cinnamon Roll Icing
- Add the softened cream cheese and butter to a mixing bowl and whisk together until smooth, light, and fluffy.

- Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, then whisk again until everything is fully combined and creamy.

- Place the icing in the fridge while your cinnamon rolls bake and cool completely.
- Avoid spreading the icing on hot rolls, as the heat will cause it to melt instead of staying thick and smooth.

Top Tips
- Let the cinnamon rolls cool completely before adding the icing so it doesn’t melt.
- Store the icing separately and only add it to the rolls you’re about to eat — this way, when you reheat the rolls in the microwave, the icing stays fresh and doesn’t melt.
- Keep the icing stored in the fridge, where it will stay fresh for up to 5 days.
