These are the best and softest Greek yogurt cinnamon rolls ever! They only require 3 ingredients and no rising time. A must-try!
Cinnamon roll season is officially here, and honestly, I could enjoy them all year round! But there’s something special about baking and indulging in cinnamon rolls when the weather turns chilly—they make the perfect cozy dessert. Last year, I shared a traditional cinnamon roll recipe that were the fluffiest and most delicious buns I’ve had, but this year, I wanted to try something new: Greek yogurt cinnamon rolls.
I’ll admit, I was hesitant at first because I hate wasting ingredients on recipes that don’t work out. But let me tell you, these 3-ingredient Greek yogurt cinnamon rolls are totally worth the hype!
They’re incredibly easy and quick to make, with no need for rising time, so they’re ready in under 40 minutes—compared to the 2-3 hours it usually takes for traditional cinnamon rolls. And the best part? They taste so good, satisfying those cinnamon roll cravings without the hours in the kitchen!
I was genuinely surprised by how soft and fluffy these rolls turned out, especially with such a simple ingredient list. As soon as I made them, I knew I had to share this recipe with you all. I hope you love them as much as we did—especially my daughter, who couldn’t get enough!
I’d love to hear your thoughts, so please leave a comment and rating below. And if you share your creations on Instagram, don’t forget to tag me @lotsoflovemariam – I can’t wait to see them!

Best Greek Yogurt Cinnamon Rolls
Ingredients Needed
Greek Yogurt Dough
- Plain flour
- Greek-style natural plain yogurt (I find this gives it a softer and fluffier texture than traditional Greek yogurt!)
- Baking powder
- Salt (optional)
Filling
- Coconut oil (softened – if its melted thats fine too but I found softened gives it a nice buttery texture)
- Brown sugar (you can also use coconut sugar if you wish)
- Cinnamon
Frosting
- Full-fat cream cheese (for a nice creamier consistency)
- 100% pure maple syrup (you can use icing sugar if you wish but make sure to add a bit of milk to thin the consistency if needed)

How To Make A No Egg Cinnamon Roll Recipe
- Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
- In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the yogurt, and start mixing with a spatula, then use your hands to knead the dough until it forms a smooth ball.
- If the dough is too sticky, add about 1 tablespoon of flour. If it’s too dry, add 1 tablespoon of yogurt.
- Mix together the filling ingredients.

- Lightly flour your work surface—since this dough uses yogurt, it can be a bit sticky, but don’t worry, a little flour will fix that. Be patient!
- Flour your rolling pin as well, then roll the dough into a rectangle, about ½ inch thick. It doesn’t need to be a perfect rectangle, so don’t stress!

- Spread the cinnamon mixture evenly over the dough

- Starting from one of the shorter sides, carefully roll the dough into a cylinder.

- To cut the dough into 5-6 cinnamon buns, place a piece of string or dental floss underneath the roll, cross the ends, and gently pull to slice.

- Lightly grease your baking tray and arrange the buns. It’s okay if they’re touching!
- Bake for 20-25 minutes. Any longer than 25 minutes can dry out the dough, but after about 20-23 minutes, they should be perfectly golden.

- Once baked, let the buns cool down slightly while you prepare the frosting.
- In a bowl, mix the cream cheese and maple syrup with an electric hand mixer until smooth and whipped.
- Once the cinnamon rolls have cooled, generously spread the icing on top.

- Enjoy!

Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- No rising time! These cinnamon rolls are ready in under 40 minutes, unlike traditional cinnamon rolls, which can take 2-3 hours.
- Super easy to make: With just 3 simple ingredients for the dough, anyone can make these!
- Soft and fluffy: I used Greek-style natural yogurt, which helps make the dough extra soft compared to regular Greek yogurt – this is what I read online, and I can confirm, they turned out perfectly soft!
- Absolutely delicious: They taste just as good as classic cinnamon rolls! Last year, I shared my traditional cinnamon roll recipe, and these 3-ingredient rolls are just as tasty!
Storage Tips
These Greek yogurt cinnamon rolls are best enjoyed fresh, but you can store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a day. Then once completely cooled (by the next day or later in the evening), store in the fridge.
If you have leftovers, refrigerate them for up to 3 days. When ready to eat, simply heat them in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. You can also let them sit at room temperature for a bit before eating, which helps them soften nicely!
If they are not going to be eaten all on the same day they are made, then only frost the ones that will and store the frosting in the fridge. When you heat your cinnamon roll, add your frosting on top!
