Easy and healthy Greek yogurt bagel recipe made with just a few simple ingredients—soft, fluffy, and better than store-bought bagels!

I made my first ever homemade bagel about two years ago using cottage cheese, and since then, I honestly haven’t gone back to store-bought bagels. There’s just something special about making your own — even the simplest homemade bagels taste fresher, softer, and so much better than anything you’ll find at the store. Plus, when you make them yourself, you know exactly what’s going into them — no added sugar, preservatives, or unnecessary ingredients.
Recently, I was craving my usual homemade bagels but realized I was out of cottage cheese. That’s when I decided to try the viral Greek yogurt bagel recipe that everyone has been talking about — and wow, I think I might love these even more than my cottage cheese version! These Greek yogurt bagels are soft, fluffy, and perfectly chewy, with just the right texture you want in a bagel.
The best part? This bagel recipe with yogurt only uses four simple ingredients — or three if you skip the salt — and takes just minutes to make. You don’t need any yeast, boiling water, or fancy equipment. Just flour, Greek yogurt, baking powder, and salt, and you’ve got yourself a batch of fresh, delicious bagels made with Greek yogurt.
Once you make these homemade Greek yogurt bagels, you’ll never want to buy store-bought bagels again! Your feedback means the world to me, so don’t forget to leave a rating and comment below. Greek Yogurt Bagels
Ingredients Needed
- Plain flour (add a little extra if the dough feels too sticky)
- Full-fat Greek yogurt
- Baking powder
- Salt
- Egg (for brushing on top to give the bagels a golden finish)
- Sesame seeds or poppy seeds for topping (optional, but highly recommended)

How To Make These Bagels Made With Greek Yogurt
- Add the flour, baking powder, and salt to a bowl and mix well.
- Add the Greek yogurt and mix with a spatula, then use your hands to knead the dough inside the bowl about 20 times.
- If the dough still feels too sticky after kneading, add an extra tbsp of flour and knead briefly (only add more if needed).
- Cover the bowl and let the dough rest for 10 minutes. It won’t rise, but this step helps it set.
- Preheat your oven to 175°C.
- After 10 minutes, lightly flour your surface so the dough doesn’t stick. Roll the dough into a log and cut it into four equal pieces.
- Take each piece and roll it into another log (not too thin), then join the ends together to form a bagel shape. Press the ends firmly so they stick.

- Line a baking tray with a non-stick baking sheet and place the bagels on it.
- Beat the egg and brush it over the tops of the bagels.
- If using sesame or poppy seeds, sprinkle them on top.

- Bake for 20–25 minutes. After 20 minutes, check if the bagels are golden. If not, leave them in for an extra 2–3 minutes, but don’t let them overcook.
- Let the bagels cool for at least 15 minutes before serving — this step is important for the perfect texture.
- Enjoy your soft, golden homemade Greek yogurt bagels!
