Join this 30 day weight loss challenge with simple daily habits, a free habit tracker, and tips to boost fat loss, energy, and consistency.

When I first started my weight loss journey, I felt completely overwhelmed. I thought I needed to cut out all my favorite foods, work out for hours every day, and basically turn my life upside down. And every time I “failed” to stick to some strict plan, I would beat myself up and just give up altogether.
What actually worked for me wasn’t restriction or perfection — it was building small, simple habits that I could stick to every single day. Things like drinking water as soon as I woke up, eating a high-protein breakfast, and going for a walk whenever I could. These habits may sound basic, but once I got consistent with them, they completely transformed my energy, my cravings, and even my mindset.
That’s why I put together this 30 day weight loss challenge. Instead of obsessing over calories or spending hours at the gym, you’ll focus on a handful of powerful daily habits that actually move the needle. These are the exact habits that helped me lose weight, balance my hormones, and feel so much better in my body — and if you stay consistent, they can do the same for you.
To help you stay accountable, I’ve included a free printable habit tracker in this post. Print it off, stick it somewhere visible, and tick off your progress daily. Trust me, you’ll be amazed at how motivating it feels to see all those little wins add up.

Daily Habits To Do Everyday For 30 Days
1. Hydrate First Thing In The Morning
Drink at least 500ml of water when you wake up (you can start with 250ml if that feels easier). This rehydrates your body after a full night’s sleep, supports your adrenal glands, and helps balance cortisol — which is naturally highest in the morning. Balanced cortisol = better energy, fewer cravings, and less fat storage.
2. High Protein Savoury Breakfast
Aim for 30g of protein in your first meal. This stabilizes blood sugar, balances insulin (a fat-storing hormone), reduces cravings, and keeps you full for longer. Think:
- Eggs + avocado + spinach
- Greek yogurt + nuts + berries
- Chicken or turkey sausage with mushrooms and cheese
Don’t forget to include healthy fats and fiber (avocados, seeds, veggies) to make your breakfast even more satisfying.
3. Drink 2-3L of Water
If water is a struggle for you, here are my 3 top tips that made the biggest difference for me:
- Get a water bottle with a straw — trust me, it makes drinking effortless. My fave is the Stanley cup, and everyone I’ve recommended it to has said they’ve never drunk so much water in their life.
- Sip regularly — don’t wait until you’re thirsty (that’s the first sign of dehydration).
- Use a habit tracker — ticking off your water goal daily feels motivating until it becomes second nature.
4. Workout For 15-30 Minutes 4-5x A Week
You don’t need the gym or long workouts to see results. Consistency is what matters. You can even try my 30-day free workout schedule designed for home, no matter how busy your schedule is.
Find the time of day that works best for you (morning, lunch break, or evening) and write it down in your planner like you would for an appointment! This way you won’t miss it!
5. Get Your Steps In (6-10k a Day)
Walking is one of the most underrated fat-burning tools. It’s low impact, supports cortisol balance, and can easily fit into your day:
- Walking pad while you work
- YouTube walk workouts (GrowWithJo is a fave!)
- Walking to the shops, school run, or around the house
Remember: you don’t need to hit your steps in one go — splitting them across the day works perfectly.
6. Get 7-9 Hours Of Sleep
Sleep is everything when it comes to weight loss. Poor sleep raises cortisol, increases ghrelin (your hunger hormone), lowers leptin (your fullness hormone), and makes you crave sugar and carbs.
Create a relaxing night routine to help your body switch off. Good sleep = better recovery, less inflammation, and better results.
7. 30g Of Protein In Every Meal
Protein keeps blood sugar steady, reduces insulin spikes, and keeps you satisfied for longer. This one habit alone will stop overeating and unnecessary snacking.
Example:
- Breakfast: eggs, Greek yogurt, turkey sausage
- Lunch/Dinner: chicken, beef, fish, tofu, beans
- Snacks: greek yogurt, nut butter, cottage cheese, boiled eggs
8. Limit Processed Snacks (Swaps Instead)
I used to snack on biscuits every single day, and my body just kept storing fat because the constant sugar spikes raised my insulin. Instead, I started making simple swaps like (snacks are clickable for recipe):
It’s not about cutting out snacks — it’s about making smarter swaps that don’t sabotage your progress.

Tips For A Successful Challenge
Schedule your habits — set reminders in your phone or write them into your planner. You wouldn’t miss a dentist appointment – so when you schedule your habits (e.g. time blocking them) you are more likely not to miss them.
Don’t aim for perfection — if you miss a day, it’s not failure. Just pick it back up tomorrow. It’s all about consistency. Please don’t give up if you miss a day or two!
Track progress in more ways than the scale — use photos, measurements, how your clothes fit, your energy levels, and how you have been consistent! These are all signs of progress.
Pair habits together — e.g. drink water while making breakfast, walk while listening to a podcast.
Reward yourself weekly — not with food, but with a treat like a new water bottle, workout outfit, or relaxing bath.
