A quick and easy caramelised banana recipe that’s high in protein, delicious, and perfect for a healthy snack or post-workout treat.

When I tell you I’ve been having this healthy caramelised banana dessert (or snack!) every single day after my workout for the past month… I’m not exaggerating. I’ve become so hyper-fixated on it that I honestly can’t eat a normal banana anymore—it’s just not the same! This caramelised banana recipe is ridiculously easy to throw together, but it tastes next level.
Even my 4-year-old has been obsessed—she asks for it every day like, “Mama, can you make me the cooked banana with yogurt?” And of course, I do. It’s that good.
It’s the perfect high-protein snack to refuel your body after a workout, but still feels like a proper treat. Think hot banana desserts but made healthier with a drizzle of maple syrup, creamy yogurt, and your favourite toppings.

Healthy Caramelised Banana Yogurt Bowl
Ingredients Needed
- Full-fat plain Greek yogurt or natural-style Greek yogurt
- Ripe banana
- Maple syrup
- Roasted nuts or homemade nutty granola
- Chia seeds
- Chocolate (your favourite kind – dark, milk, or even chips)
- Butter (for frying the bananas)
How To Make This Caramelised Banana Recipe
- Add your Greek yogurt to your bowl and set it aside.
- Slice your banana in half lengthways (only half a banana), then heat a pan over medium-low heat. Add a small amount of butter and let it melt before placing the banana in the pan, cut side down.
- Drizzle a tiny bit of maple syrup over the banana—just enough to help it caramelise.
- Let it cook for about 20 seconds or until lightly golden, then gently flip and cook the other side for another 10 seconds or so. Keep an eye on it—the key is golden and caramelised, not burnt, as that can affect the flavour.
- Once done, place the banana on top of your yogurt. Sprinkle over some homemade granola, chia seeds, and a bit of chocolate. And that’s it—enjoy every bite!
