These almond flour donuts are incredibly easy and quick to make, perfect for anyone—even if you’re not a baking expert. So delicious too!
There’s just something special about almond flour desserts—they always taste amazing! I’ve made a few of my own, like these cookie dough balls and almond flour cookies, which were both a big hit. Last year, I baked homemade oat flour donuts (link), and they disappeared the same day. Since my love for almond flour desserts has only grown, I had to try almond flour donuts!
I was a bit hesitant at first, unsure if almond flour would hold the donuts together as well as regular or oat flour. The texture was slightly different from what I was used to with baked donuts, but to my surprise, they turned out absolutely perfect—delicious and gone in no time!
Trust me, you’ll be hooked once you try these almond flour chocolate donuts. They’re super easy and quick to make, and you don’t need to be a baking expert—anyone can make them! You’ll find yourself making them again and again.
In this post, I’m sharing the full almond flour donut recipe and tips on storing them to keep them fresh. I hope you enjoy them as much as we did! I’d love to hear your feedback, so don’t forget to leave a rating and comment below. And if you share them on Instagram, be sure to tag me @lotsoflovemariam—I can’t wait to see your recreations!

Almond Flour Dounts
Ingredients Needed To Make This Almond Flour Donuts Recipe
- Almond flour
- Brown sugar (you can use coconut sugar if you prefer)
- Egg
- Full-fat milk (or any milk of your choice)
- Pure maple syrup
- Ceylon cinnamon
- Baking powder
- Salt
- Organic coconut oil (melted and cooled) – this will be needed to make the donuts and to melt the chocolate!
- Chocolate spread or any chocolate you can melt (for topping)
How To Make Almond Flour Chocolate Donuts
- Preheat the oven to 175°C and lightly grease your donut tray if needed (I didn’t have to grease mine, but it depends on your tray).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the brown sugar, egg, melted and cooled coconut oil, milk, and maple syrup until well combined.]
- Next, add the almond flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon, and whisk again until the batter is smooth.

- For easy piping, place a freezer bag inside a cup to hold it steady, then pour the batter into the bag. Cut a small slit in the corner of the bag, and pipe the batter into the donut tray, filling each mold up to the top to ensure your donuts come out thick and fluffy.

- Shake the tray or use a spoon to smooth out the batter.
- Bake in the oven for 15 minutes. Check with a skewer around the 12-minute mark—if it comes out clean, they’re done. I found that 15 minutes was just right, as the donuts continue to cook slightly while cooling.

- Once baked, let the donuts cool completely to avoid breaking. While they’re cooling, melt your chocolate spread (or regular chocolate) with coconut oil in a saucepan over low heat. Stir constantly to prevent burning, and once the mixture is smooth, remove from heat.
- Handle the donuts gently when dipping them in the chocolate, as they may still be warm on the inside and can easily break. Make sure you also dip the bottom part of the donut that was in the tray (the top part comes out a little flat and you want them to look like real donuts !)

How To Store
Be sure the donuts are fully cooled before adding your melted chocolate or any other toppings. Once the chocolate has set, store them in an airtight container.
To keep the chocolate intact, try to avoid stacking them. They’ll stay fresh in the fridge for 3-5 days—though, if they’re anything like ours, they might not last that long because they’re just too good!

These are the exact donut trays I own! They make taking the donuts out so easy.
