11 Restaurants In Tangier To Add To Your Itinerary
*These are listed in no particular order*
1. Le Bistro

When you’re in Petite Socco and need a spot to eat, Le Bistro is definitely worth a visit. One of its best features is the rooftop seating, offering a lovely view of the bustling Socco below. They specialize in traditional Moroccan cuisine — we tried the meat and chicken tajines, along with chips and a classic Moroccan salad (make sure to add the salt, oil, and vinegar yourself—it’s a must!).

The meat tajine was a highlight: tender, flavorful, and served with prunes, which always pairs beautifully with the rich meat. While the chicken tajine was good, it didn’t quite match up to the meat tajine in our opinion. They offer a variety of other dishes as well, and it’s a very popular spot among both locals and tourists.
2. The Burger Boutique

This spot is located in Malabata, so if your hotel is nearby and you’re craving a burger, this place is definitely worth trying. We ordered the Texas BBQ burger and the Korean burger — both were absolute 10/10s: super delicious and very filling.
The chips were a bit on the salty side for us, so you might want to ask them to go easy on the salt — maybe it was just a one-time thing, but it’s good to mention. I also ordered a Greek salad with my burger, and it was fantastic!
3. Cafe Hafa

Café Hafa is a must-visit in Tangier — it’s a popular spot among both locals and tourists, and the views of the Mediterranean Sea are absolutely stunning. They serve sweet Moroccan mint tea, which is perfect for relaxing and soaking up the atmosphere.

While we didn’t try the food, they do have a menu if you want to eat there. We went in the late afternoon, which I highly recommend — it was cooler, and the vibe just before sunset made the experience even more special.
4. Dar Harruch

Dar Harruch was one of our absolute favourites. It’s another traditional Moroccan restaurant located in Petite Socco, and we instantly loved the cosy decor and warm atmosphere. The service was incredible — one of the staff members was so kind and welcoming, he really made us feel at home. He had us laughing and enjoying ourselves, which was such a special moment, especially for my non-Moroccan family to experience the kindness and hospitality Moroccans are known for.

The food was just as great as the service. We ordered the chicken pastilla — it was a 10/10 and an absolute must-try! We shared one between us, and it was more than enough. We also tried the couscous, and it was hands down the best we had during our time in Tangier.

5. Café Restaurant Sol

When visiting Cap Spartel and the Caves of Hercules — since they’re right next to each other — a stop at Achakar Beach is a must for a relaxing afternoon or evening. There was one restaurant right next to the beach that was packed, and for good reason! It had a lovely seating area with a nice view overlooking the beach.
We ordered a Margherita pizza, calamari, and two shawarma wraps with chips — everything was really tasty. If you’re planning to spend time at Achakar Beach and need somewhere for lunch, this spot is definitely worth adding to your list.
6. Mazen Chef
This traditional Syrian restaurant in Malabata was such a great find! The place itself is beautifully decorated, and the food was just as impressive. We loved it so much, we actually went twice and ordered different dishes each time — and honestly, everything we tried was delicious.
No matter what you order, you’re likely to enjoy it. It’s the perfect spot for a cozy late-night dinner, especially if you’re staying nearby.
7. Fendak Dar Dbagh

Fendak Dar Dbagh is a beautiful spot with a modern Moroccan feel and strong Jebli (mountain Berber) influences. The setting is rich in heritage and culture — it really captures the spirit of the northern Moroccan regions like Tangier, Larache, and Chefchaouen. It’s a lovely place to sit down for a meal and soak in the authentic atmosphere.

We ordered couscous, meat tajine, and meatball tajine. Everything tasted good, though the meat tajine could have used a bit more flavour. Still, overall, it was a great meal. They’re also well known for their traditional Moroccan breakfasts, which are freshly prepared by Moroccan women on-site — from the warm bread to the pastries, everything is made fresh and with care.
They also have a little shop selling organic goods like oils, creams, Moroccan ceramics, tagines, and more. It’s such a charming place and definitely worth a visit if you want an authentic Moroccan food and cultural experience.
8. Mom’s Crepe

Mom’s Crêpe was the perfect late-night dessert spot! We were craving something sweet after dinner and found this little place in Malabata, just a short ride from our hotel.
They serve both crêpes and pancakes, and wow — the Nutella crêpe was absolutely delicious. It was freshly made, warm, and hit the spot as the perfect sweet treat to end the night.
9. Arte Pizza

When you’re at Tanger Beach or Malabata Beach and need a bite to eat, I highly recommend Arte Pizza. It’s very close to the beach and known for having some of the best pizza in Tangier.
While we’ve had better pizza back in the UK, the pizzas here were definitely tasty and satisfying. We ordered a meat pizza and a chicken pizza, and both made the perfect lunch for the beach.
10. Kandinsky Ice Cream Factory

Kandinsky Ice Cream Factory is a dessert spot definitely worth visiting! Located right by the beach in Malabata, it’s a really pretty place to sit and enjoy a sweet treat.
We ordered the lemon and mango ice cream, and it was a solid 10/10 — super refreshing and full of flavour. Apparently, they’re known for serving the best ice cream in Tangier, and honestly, it lived up to the hype!
11. Kanzaman Restaurant

Kanzaman Restaurant is another traditional Moroccan food spot in Petite Socco that’s definitely worth a visit! They serve classic Moroccan dishes but also offer a variety of other options if you’re in the mood for something different — like shawarma wraps, burgers, pasta, and pizza.
We ordered the Bolognese pasta, couscous, a meat tajine, and a burger. The meat tajine wasn’t the best we’ve had, but the couscous was delicious, and the pasta was surprisingly good too.
It’s a great option if you’re looking for tasty, affordable food in the heart of Tangier.
12. Kanzaman Street Food

Kanzaman Street Food, located just around the corner from the main restaurant, is an absolute must-try! They serve a mix of delicious street food like shawarma, pizza, and samosas — including chicken, fish, and meat samosas.

We ordered two chicken samosas, and they were huge — a solid 10/10! We also tried their pizza, which was really tasty, and the shawarma, which came with chips, did not disappoint.
Everything was super affordable, making it a great spot for lunch or dinner. If you’re after good-quality street food in Tangier that won’t break the bank, this is the place to go!
13. Oxygen

Oxygen was a random find that we ended up really enjoying! They have a wide variety of options on the menu, and we ordered a chicken Caesar salad, two pizzas, and a burger. The Caesar salad was really nice, the pizzas were tasty, but my husband thought the burger was just okay — not bad, just average.

For dessert, we had an Oreo cheesecake, and I also ordered a berry chia pudding, which was super refreshing and a unique treat.
I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for something a bit different from the usual Moroccan spots. It’s located near Marjane, which I also highly recommend for picking up essentials — I’ve included it in my Top 9 Things to Do in Tangier blog post.
