It all started one day when hunger struck, and I decided to experiment with some of my favourite spices. The result? A mouthwatering creation that has never failed to impress. So, when I was brainstorming recipe ideas to share with all of you – whether it’s for appetizers, lunch, or dinner – I knew this had to be at the top of the list. Trust me, if you’re a fan of wings, you’re going to fall head over heels for these!

It’s a combination that’s both hearty and satisfying, perfect for a satisfying meal any day of the week.

- Whole chicken wings: Leave the skin on because this is what makes them taste extra delicious plus the skin is healthy fats!
- Spices: Salt, black pepper, garlic granules, paprika, ginger powder, turmeric, curry powder
- Extra virgin olive oil: This not only makes it easy to evenly marinate the chicken but it adds extra flavour to the baked whole chicken wings.
- Dark soy sauce: The dark soy sauce not only adds a deep and rich colour to the wings compared to light soy sauce but also makes the wings caramelised and adds a rich taste to the wings. Trust me you do not want to skip this.
How To Make These Healthy Oven Baked Wings:
- Wash the chicken wings thoroughly with fresh lemon juice and salt and rinse off with cold water. Then pat them dry with some kitchen tissue.
- Transfer the cleaned wings to a large mixing bowl. Add all the spices, a generous drizzle of extra virgin olive oil (about 2 tbsp), and a splash of soy sauce (around 2-3 tsp or to taste). Use your hands to mix everything together, ensuring the wings are evenly coated with the seasonings.
- Preheat your oven to the temperature specified (check recipe card below for further details). While the oven is heating up, prepare a baking tray by lining it with non-stick baking paper. This will prevent the wings from sticking to the tray during cooking.
- Arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer on the prepared baking tray, leaving a little space between each wing to allow for even cooking. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake the wings for approximately 20 minutes on one side and then flip for another 10 minutes (or until golden and crispy).
- Once the wings are cooked to your liking, remove them from the oven. Allow them to cool for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious oven baked wings as a tasty appetizer, snack, or main course!

Oven Baked Wings
Equipment
- 1 Large mixing bowl
- 1 baking tray
- non-stick baking paper
- Tong (to flip your wings)
Ingredients
- 13-14 whole chicken wings with skin
- 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 tsp ground black pepper
- 1/2 tsp garlic granules
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp curry powder
- 2-3 tsp dark soy sauce (adjust as needed – don't add too much or else it will come out too salty)
Instructions
- Wash chicken wings with lemon juice and salt, then rinse with cold water and pat dry.
- In a bowl, combine wings with spices, 2 tbsp olive oil, and 2 tsp soy sauce. Mix well.
- Preheat oven to 200c (fan). Line baking tray with non-stick paper.
- Arrange wings on tray, ensuring space between each. Bake at specified temperature for 20 mins, flip, then bake for 10 more mins or until golden and crispy.
