Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day. I have never missed breakfast and the only time I have is during Ramadan of course. Did you know breakfast is the most important meal of the day? This is because it helps replenish your body’s supply of glucose to help increase your energy levels and can help you control your weight. Research has shown that those who miss breakfast are typically under or overweight. So having a healthy breakfast to start your day is even more important! Check out this article to see some of the other benefits of starting your day with breakfast.

This post is all about a week of quick healthy breakfast ideas that you can add to your weekly meal plans.
Quick Healthy Breakfast Ideas
1. Overnight Oats
This is an amazing option for meal prepping when you have no time in the morning but still want to have a filling healthy breakfast. Oats have so many health benefits such as aiding weight loss (making you full for longer), enhancing brain function and relieving constipation problems.
Aside from the health benefits, you can always switch up the flavour depending on what you are craving. You can also make overnight oats on the same day and eat them within 30 minutes too! Check out my blog post where I have shared an easy chocolate overnight oats recipe but you can change up the flavour (I have given some examples in the post!). Click HERE for the recipe.
2. Weetabix
I had to add this one because recently this has been my favourite breakfast! This has become my most consumed breakfast as I have this at least 3-4 times a week. And I think because of the cold, it just makes it the perfect warm healthy breakfast. I use unsweetened almond milk and once it is heated up I add a teaspoon of organic chia seeds, to make it extra healthy.
Weetabix has a few health benefits which are why I wanted to add it to the list of quick and easy healthy breakfast ideas. Some of the benefits of having Weetabix are: low in sugar, provides vitamins and minerals which makes it a great way to start the day, and it is high in iron.
3. No Added Sugar Granola And Yogurt
The perfect breakfast if you are having a sweet craving in the morning. You can add a yoghurt of your choice, some healthy options would be Kefir yoghurt, fat-free or protein yoghurt. It is better to use no added sugar granola rather than a regular one because even though granola is seen to be healthy, there are so many hidden sugars which do the complete opposite.
I also like to add a few fruit toppings, such as blueberries and raspberries or kiwi and bananas. Also, I recently started adding pumpkin seeds which have so many health benefits. The health benefits include improving cholesterol levels, source of antioxidants, boosting the immune system, and it is good for the hair, skin and nails.
4. Banana Oatmeal Pancakes
The perfect healthy breakfast idea for the whole family during the weekends! I found the best recipe online that I need to share with you all! It is so quick and easy and it is all made in a blender. Click HERE for the recipe.
5. Avocado On Toast
I prefer to have this as a lunch but avocado on toast makes the perfect healthy breakfast too. This is another breakfast that can help you stay fuller for longer. Avocados are packed with healthy beneficial fats as well as omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins.
You can add different toppings depending on what you are feeling. Some of my favourite toppings are fried eggs, feta cheese or just a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
6. Peanut Butter And Banana
Adding peanut butter to your toast, with sliced bananas and a sprinkle of chia seeds is so delicious and filling. You can always change the toppings or just leave it as peanut butter alone, which is what I tend to do. But when I am feeling something sweet then I always add sliced bananas on top.
A few years ago, I was watching a TV show where people were asked if they think peanut butter is healthy and everyone was saying no. When in fact peanut butter is healthy – as long as you are buying the healthy ones! Some brands have peanut butter packed with protein, good fats and vitamins and minerals e.g Whole Earth. Whereas, other peanut butter brands tend to be full of unhealthy oils and sugars which take away the healthiness of peanut butter!
7. Chia Pudding
This one is very similar to overnight oats. You can make this the night before to eat the next day. But you can also make it on the same day (just wait at least 15-20 minutes for it to thicken). It is also the perfect healthy breakfast on the go too!
Just like overnight oats, you can add different flavours depending on what you are feeling. One thing I like to add is a teaspoon of Nutella. I love chocolate! Many recipes tell you to add yoghurt but you can just add a milk of your choice, mix in the chia seeds and your choice of flavour and leave it overnight. This will still make you the same chia pudding without too many ingredients.
Chia seeds have so many health benefits such as being high in fibre, antioxidants, and minerals and improving digestion and gut health. One of my favourite health brands that do organic chia seeds is Naturya!
