Traveling soon and want to stay fit on the go? Here are quick no-equipment travel workouts perfect for your hotel room!

Maintaining your workout routine while traveling doesn’t have to be complicated. In fact, it’s completely fine if you don’t follow the exact routine you do at home—after all, vacations are meant for flexibility and relaxation. However, I’ve found that staying active during trips offers so many benefits, and in this blog post, I’ll be sharing how travel workouts can enhance your holiday experience.
I’ve also created a 1-week travel workout plan (with videos) that’s easy to follow. If you’re traveling for longer, you can simply repeat the routine. But if you’d prefer to customize your own plan, I’ve included some of the best types of workouts for travel, so you can mix and match according to your needs.
The workouts I’m sharing are no-equipment, hotel-friendly workouts that are perfect for a quick session before starting your day. Whether you’re on a short getaway or an extended trip, these routines will help you stay active and make it easier to jump back into your regular fitness routine when you return home!

Benefits Of Travel Workouts
Sticking to a workout routine while on holiday can be incredibly beneficial. It doesn’t have to mirror your usual routine at home. Even a quick 10-minute workout, like the ones I’ve shared below in the ‘travel workout plan,’ can make a big difference. Just a short session during your trip can offer significant benefits. Here are some of the key advantages of travel workouts:
- Maintains routine and consistency: This is particularly helpful if you are used to falling off track easily. Maintaining a routine on holiday can make it super easy to get back into your usual routine once you are back home.
- Reduces travel fatigue and jet lag
- Boost mood and mental health: Travel workouts can be particularly helpful when dealing with the unpredictability of travel and the stress that comes with it.
- Improves sleep quality: Sleep can be affected whilst on holiday especially in unfamiliar environments or new time zones. So working out can help with sleep quality.
- Prevents stiffness and aches from long journeys
- Burns off extra calories from vacation indulgences: I found it can help with bloating which tends to be common whilst traveling.
- Supports immune system: This is especially helpful in crowded spaces like airports or during long flights where germs are more prevalent.
How To Stay In Shape While On Vacation: Types Of Workouts
Here are a few different types of travel workouts you can do to help you stay in while on vacation. This will help you create your own travel workout plan if you do not wish to follow the workout routine I have created below.
- Bodyweight exercises: Perfect for hotel rooms or small spaces (e.g., squats, lunges, push-ups, planks).
- Resistance bands: Easy to pack and can be used in many ways for strength training. These are resistance bands I use that are perfect for lower-body workouts. You can also grab these resistance bands which can also be used for upper-body workouts.
- HIIT (High-Intensity Interval Training): Quick, effective workouts for cardio and fat burning. These can be as quick as 10 minutes, which is exactly what I have shared in the travel workout plan I created below.
- Yoga or stretching routines: To relax and stay flexible during long trips.

How To Fit Workouts Into a Busy Schedule
If you have a busy itinerary while on holiday and are wondering how to fit in your travel workout plan, here are my top 3 tips for setting realistic workout goals during your trip:
- Early morning workouts: The workout plan I have provided is a 5-10 minute routine that can easily fit into your morning routine. This is so beneficial as it will boost your mood and help with any digestive issues that are common whilst traveling.
- Stick to short workouts: If you do not follow the workout plan I have provided and decide to create your own, then make sure you stick to only short workouts. They should be nothing more than 15 minutes so you can easily fit it into your busy holiday schedule.
- Mix sightseeing with exercise: Opt for walking or hiking as much as possible during your trip. Instead of taking a taxi or public transport, walk to your destination. It’s not only a great way to save money, but it also provides the best low-impact cardio in the form of walking!
