Want to increase your productivity in order to start achieving more? Join our 20-day productivity challenge to transform your habits, boost efficiency, and achieve more every day! This challenge will be game-changing.

Our productivity hinges on our habits and how we approach our tasks. Many people lack the right routine to maximize their productivity. When I started my blogging business, I needed to be extremely productive because, as a full-time mum, my work time is very limited. To make the most of my time, I learned a lot about productivity and how to enhance it.
In this 20-day productivity challenge, I’ll share the habits and routines that have helped me achieve my goals, even with a busy mum life. If you want to get more done in less time and reach your goals, stick around for this challenge!
Before we start, remember that your energy levels will vary, affecting your productivity. We’re human, not machines, so off days are normal. However, by following this challenge and incorporating habits like a morning routine and self-care, you can quickly restore your energy and productivity.
This 20-day productivity challenge is designed to help you develop new strategies and habits to boost your daily productivity. Commit to completing the tasks each day and continuing these habits after the challenge to see real change. I hope you’ll see a difference by the end. I’d love to hear about your progress, so please leave a comment when you start and finish the challenge!
This post is all about a 20-day productivity challenge!
20-Day Productivity Challenge
Day 1. Set Specific Goals
Goal setting has been a game-changer for me. It increases productivity by giving you purpose and direction. Without clear goals, you won’t know what to do each day, which reduces your productivity. For example, if you’re a student aiming for the highest score this month, set a specific goal like achieving an A+ by the end of the month through specific actions. This helps you plan your weeks and days, boosting your productivity.
On the first day of our challenge, we’ll focus on setting specific goals. Break down your big goal into smaller, actionable steps to work on daily. Check out my goal-setting strategy blog post for guidance on setting effective goals to increase your chances of achieving them.

Day 2. Create The Right Productive To Do List

On the second day of the productivity challenge, your task is simple: create a detailed productive to-do list for the day. You can do this the night before, which I highly recommend, or first thing in the morning.
List 3-5 tasks for the day to stay productive without feeling overwhelmed. After creating your list, organize it by importance and urgency. Number the tasks from 1 to 3, with 1 being the most important and 3 the least. This way, you start with the most important tasks, ensuring that even if you don’t complete everything, you’ll have tackled the most crucial items, making you feel productive.
Although this is your task for day two, make it a daily habit to maintain momentum and productivity.
Day 3. Identify And Eliminate Distractions
Identify what distracts you during work. For me, it’s my phone—I often find myself checking it while writing blog posts. To eliminate this distraction, I put my phone on silent and keep it out of reach. Another highly effective method I use is the Pomodoro Technique, which helps me stay focused and productive.
Once you identify your distractions or time-wasting activities, make a mental note of them and avoid them while working through your to-do list.
Day 4: Create A Morning Routine

How you start your morning significantly impacts the rest of your day. I’ve never been so productive until I created my own morning routine that helps me start my day calmly, making me feel accomplished and energized. Here’s a simple morning routine to try:
- Avoid your phone for the first 30 minutes to 1 hour: This is the most important step and should be included in any morning routine.
- Make your bed: This gives you a sense of accomplishment and a tidy room improves mental clarity.
- Hydrate before breakfast: Replenish your body with water.
- Skincare routine: Make yourself feel good and refreshed.
- Morning movement: Whether it’s a 5-10 minute stretch, a walk outside, or a workout, get your body moving.
- Healthy breakfast: Choose a high-protein meal to give you energy for the day.
Trust me, once you start a morning routine you love and enjoy, you’ll feel more productive than ever!

Day 5: Time Blocking
This is my absolute favorite and game-changing technique that I’ve used for the past two years to significantly boost my productivity. Time blocking simply means allocating specific time slots for different tasks.
For example, if your to-do list includes 1) workout, 2) finish assignment, and 3) meal prep, time blocking would involve setting specific time slots for each activity. Treat these slots like appointments you wouldn’t miss, just like a dentist appointment. Here’s an example schedule:
- 7:00-7:30 am: Workout
- 7:30-8:00 am: Shower and skincare
- 8:00-9:00 am: Breakfast and get dressed
- 9:30-10:30 am: Finish assignment
- 4:00-6:00 pm: Meal prep
This method gives you a clear picture of what you’ll be doing and when, ensuring you have enough time to complete everything. Download my FREE weekly productivity planner to get started!
Day 6: Practice The Pomodoro Technique

By day 6, you’ve planned and scheduled your tasks. Now, it’s time to boost your focus and productivity even more. The best technique to use after planning and time blocking is the Pomodoro Technique. Read my blog post HERE to learn more about using this technique to truly enhance your productivity.
Here’s a quick summary of how it works:
- Choose a task and set a timer for 25 minutes. Focus only on that task.
- When the timer goes off, take a 5-minute break.
- Repeat this cycle four times, then take a longer break of 15-30 minutes.
- Continue this process until you complete the task or decide to take a longer break or switch tasks.
Give the Pomodoro Technique a try to see how it can improve your productivity!
Day 7: Declutter And Organise Workspace
Decluttering and organizing your workspace can greatly improve efficiency. A cluttered environment can overwhelm your mind and hinder productivity. Make this a regular habit, even after the challenge ends. The best time to do a thorough declutter is during a Sunday reset routine (link). To maintain organization, tidy up and put everything away at the end of each workday.
Day 8: Protect Your Time And Energy
Often, people struggle to stay productive because they take on too much. Setting boundaries is crucial to protect your time and energy from unnecessary interruptions. It means saying no to anything that adds to your current commitments.
Day 9: Practice Mindfulness
Often, our productivity struggles aren’t just about missing small habits that boost efficiency, like those in this challenge. Stress plays a major role, affecting our concentration and causing procrastination. That’s why it’s crucial to implement daily stress management techniques. Simple practices like mindfulness or meditation can help keep stress in check. To learn more about mindfulness and stress-reducing activities, check out my blog post HERE with 20 ideas!
Day 10: Review Progress
Reviewing your progress is crucial to determine what’s working for you. Identify which strategies from the past 9 days have most improved your focus and productivity, and implement them more frequently. This will help you adjust your approach and boost your productivity.
Day 11: Incorporate Regular Exercise

You might be wondering, exercise as part of a productivity challenge? When I started working out two years ago, my work ethic, focus, and productivity increased significantly. Improved health and higher energy levels greatly boost productivity.
Today’s challenge is to start scheduling your workouts just like your tasks, as we discussed on day 5. Treat your workout like an appointment to ensure it gets done.
Check out my workout schedule blog with videos included. It’s perfect for anyone with a busy lifestyle who wants to improve health and increase productivity.
Day 12: Digital Detox
A digital detox is essential for boosting productivity. We often think being productive means always doing something, but rest is productive too. Taking a break from screens and digital devices is one of the best ways to recharge and refresh your mind. Check out my 7-day digital detox challenge HERE to help reduce screen time and increase productivity.
Day 13: Celebrate Your Success So Far
You are only a few days away from completing this productivity challenge! Take a moment to reflect on your accomplishments and celebrate your successes, no matter how small. What have you achieved since starting the challenge? Are you getting more done than before? Have you added more exercise to your daily routine, and how has it made you feel? Recognize every small win to motivate yourself to keep going!
Day 14: Identify Your Most Productive Hours
This tip is simple but often overlooked: identify the hours when you’re most productive and schedule your most challenging tasks during that time. For example, I am least productive in the evenings, so I use that time to recharge. My most productive time is in the morning between 10-12, so I schedule my toughest tasks then. By doing this, you ensure you’re tackling important tasks when you can get the most done.
Other Challenges You’ll Love:
Day 15: Self Care Time

Today, take a full day off and focus on self-care activities to rejuvenate and inspire you. Burnout is a major cause of procrastination. If you overwork yourself without taking time for self-care, all your efforts to be productive will be wasted. Remember, doing nothing can be productive too.
Day 16: Break Large Projects Into Smaller Tasks
Just like breaking a large goal into small, manageable tasks, a big project should also be broken down to avoid feeling overwhelmed. This prevents procrastination and boosts productivity.
Day 17: Practice Gratitude
You might be wondering how practicing gratitude helps with productivity. Often, we feel unmotivated, doubt ourselves, or compare ourselves to others, which impacts our productivity. By reflecting on what you’re grateful for in your personal and professional life every morning and evening, you remind yourself of your achievements and blessings. This lifts your mood and boosts your energy and productivity.
If you’re looking for a gratitude journal, try my 4-month gratitude journal, which includes weekly challenges to help you become the healthiest and happiest version of yourself!
Day 18: Visualize Your Long Term Goals
Visualization is a powerful tool for boosting productivity. Today, watch a guided visualization video to help you picture your long-term goals and remind yourself why you strive to be productive. I once read a quote that said the difference between a successful person and an unsuccessful one is visualization.
Day 19: Set New Goals For The Future
As you near the end of this challenge, it’s time to set new goals for the future and create an action plan to continue improving your productivity beyond these 20 days. Reflect on the habits and strategies that helped you the most and consider how to incorporate them into your daily routine.
Here’s an example of my daily routine aimed at boosting productivity:
Evening Routine: I use evenings to plan the next day, ensuring I start each morning with a clear agenda using time-blocking strategies. I align my tasks with monthly and weekly goals.
Morning Routine: I begin with a morning routine to enhance my mood and reduce stress and anxiety.
Pomodoro Technique: During my daughter’s playtime, I use this technique to maximize my productivity. It helps me achieve more in the limited time available.
Exercise: To manage stress and maintain energy levels, I exercise during the day, which reduces cortisol and boosts my overall well-being.
Pomodoro Technique: If possible, I repeat this technique to capitalize on additional work time, whenever my schedule allows.
Evening Self-Care: I dedicate this time to relax and prevent burnout, ensuring I wake up refreshed and ready to tackle the day with renewed productivity.
Evening Planning: Lastly, I review and plan for the next day to maintain clarity and focus.
Day 20: Time To Celebrate!
On the final day of your challenge, not only will you continue your productive routine, but you’ll also celebrate completing the productivity challenge and recognize your growth and achievements. Take this moment to strive for excellence in both your personal and professional life!
