Lifting weights isn’t just about looking “toned”

Lifting weights isn’t just about looking “toned”

It’s about building a body that can support you for decades to come
💪 Building and maintaining muscle
🦴 Supporting bone strength
🏋🏼‍♀️ Keeping your body strong and capable
🧠 Supporting your confidence and independence
❤️ Making everyday life easier as you get older

And no, you don’t need to spend 2 hours in the gym or lift ridiculously heavy weights

But you do need to give your muscles a reason to adapt

Start with what you can manage, focus on good form, and gradually work towards lifting heavier as you get stronger 💪🏼

Because the goal isn’t just to be strong now
It’s to still be strong at 70

Save this as your reminder to stop treating strength training like an optional extra. And tag someone who needs to hear this too🤍

I was OBSESSED with Digestives 😂 Anyone else?!

I could easily sit down after dinner, especially once my daughter went to bed, and eat them every.single.night… and honestly, I had ZERO control around them.

But when I was losing 20kg, I realised that completely restricting the foods I loved wasn’t going to work for me long-term.

So rather than telling myself, “I can’t have sweet treats,” I started making my own wholesome versions at home.
And honestly? It made such a huge difference.

I could still have my little sweet treat after dinner, but it was made with simple, wholesome ingredients and actually satisfied my sweet tooth.

I also started focusing much more on creating balanced meals and supporting stable blood sugar, rather than simply looking at calories.

Because for me, weight loss wasn’t about eating as little as possible.

It was about learning how to eat in a way that supported my goals, kept me satisfied and was realistic enough to maintain long-term.

And these little swaps became part of that.

I still enjoy sweet treats. I still have dessert. I just don’t feel like I need to demolish half a packet of biscuits anymore 😂

You don’t need to give up the foods you love to lose weight. You need to learn how to make them work within a healthy, sustainable lifestyle. 🤍

Comment GUIDE and I’ll send you the form to join for the exact blueprint that helped me lose 20kg and keep it off (as a mum of two)

Whatever you do next, you’re voting for the person you’ll be in a year 💪🏼

Every meal, every workout, every early night adds up. You can’t change the last 1000, but you can start on the next one today.

I started after my first baby, when I’d spent nearly a year doing everything I was told and feeling worse. I stopped chasing quick fixes and built habits I could keep: lifting weights, eating whole foods that fill me up, walking daily and planning ahead.

20kg later, I’m still doing them.

I put all of it into my weight loss guide, and 400+ women have used it to build habits that last. I’m relaunching it soon, bigger and better ✨

After my first baby, I spent nearly a year doing what everyone told me to do, and it left me exhausted, craving everything and blaming myself. Things changed when I stopped chasing the “easy” fix and built habits I could keep.

Here’s what moved the needle for me:
💪 Lifting weights 3-4x a week and working towards heavier
🥗 Planning meals ahead, so there’s no last-minute takeout
🍽️ Eating whole foods that keep me full, plus foods I enjoy
🚶‍♀️ Walking 6-10k steps a day
😴 Prioritising sleep and rest (this one as much as I can because if you’re a mum then you just know it ain’t easy 😭🫠)

None of it is perfect or extreme. It’s just consistent, and it helped me lose 20kg and keep it off.

Swipe to see my before and after, and remember: you’re choosing a hard either way. Choose the one that gets you somewhere.

Respectfully… what even is rice cereal when you can make THIS for your baby? 🥹🤍

Welcome to another episode of my Baby Wellness series: Starting Solids Edition 🥣

One of my favourite things about making homemade baby food is how simple it can be to give your little one real, nutrient-dense foods without spending hours in the kitchen.

This chicken broth gives you THREE things from one simple recipe:
🍗 Chicken thigh purée - a source of protein, iron and zinc, which are important for your baby’s growth and development.
🥕 Carrot purée - provides beta-carotene, which the body converts into vitamin A to support normal vision and immune function.
🍲 Homemade broth - full of flavour and so useful for adding moisture when blending purées or softening foods. Plus, it means nothing goes to waste!

And the best part? You can batch-make everything, freeze it in small portions and have homemade baby food ready whenever you need it. No complicated recipes or fancy ingredients required. 🫶🏼

Here’s how I make it 👇🏼

🥣 Ingredients
4 Chicken thighs (I used @saffron_alley chicken — use my code MARIAM10 for 10% off)
2 Carrots
3 Celery stalks
1 Onion
2 bay leaf
A little turmeric
Water to cover

👩🏻‍🍳 Method
Add the chicken thighs, chopped carrots, celery, onion, bay leaf and turmeric to a pot. Cover with water.

Bring to a boil for 5–10 minutes, skimming off any foam that rises to the surface.

Reduce the heat and gently simmer for around 45 minutes, until the chicken is thoroughly cooked and tender.

Remove the chicken and vegetables, then strain the broth through a fine sieve.

Blend the cool chicken with a little broth until it reaches a suitable purée consistency. Blend the remaining chicken with the cooked carrots and more broth, adding a little at a time until smooth.

Let me know if you’ll be making this for your baby 💗
