1 1/2tspSea saltIMPORTANT: for the salt and the rest of the spices - the half will be added when you add the tomato sauce. the 1 tsps will be added with the onions.
1 1/2tspGaram masala
1 1/2tspTurmeric
1 1/2tspCumin
1 1/2tspChilli powderYou can add 1 tsp with the onions and then an extra tsp when you add the sauce - it depends on how spicy you like it. I find 1 1/2 tsp is perfect.
1 1/2tspCurry powder
1packetWholewheat spaghetti1 packet usually feeds 4-6 people.
500gramsDolmio sauceyou may want to add a bit of another jar if you like a saucy consistency.
Instructions
Start by finely chopping your white onions.
Warm up a deep skillet over medium-low heat. When it's slightly warm (not too hot), add a combination of olive oil and butter. Once the butter has melted, toss in the chopped onions, grated courgette and carrot.
Allow the veg to cook until they become slightly soft. Now, add only 1 tsp of each spice one by one (the other half will be added later). Mix them in. If you find the need, you can drizzle a bit more extra virgin olive oil. Be mindful not to overdo it because the meat will release its own oil once added.
Let the spices infuse for about 2-3 minutes, and then add the beef mince. Blend it in with the onions and spices, ensuring you break up the meat.
While the meat is cooking, bring a deep pan filled with hot water to a boil. Add your spaghetti and a dash of oil to prevent sticking. Cook it following the packet instructions.
Once the meat has fully cooked, add in your bolognese sauce. You might want to use one jar and a bit of another if you prefer a saucier consistency. Add the spices again - 1/2 tsp of each, and mix thoroughly. Allow it to simmer for 5-7 minutes.
Now, you either combine your drained spaghetti with the sauce if you prefer it mixed, or serve the spaghetti on a plate and add the sauce on top.
