Struggling to have productive days? Check out this weekly reset checklist to help you create a weekly reset routine to keep you organized and increase productivity for the week ahead.

A weekly reset routine is a practice that empowers you to organize your life and enjoy more productive days while enhancing your mental and physical well-being. The beauty of a weekly reset routine lies in its flexibility; you can choose any day during the week that suits you best. Many, including myself, find the weekend, particularly Sundays, to be an ideal time for this rejuvenating ritual.
I sometimes complete my weekly reset checklist on Saturdays and Sundays just so Sundays do not feel like I have so much going on. Especially as a mum and blogger, it can make my days hectic so I spread out my weekly reset list across two days on the weekends to allow time for relaxation.
The primary goal of a weekly reset routine is simplicity: to provide you with dedicated time to organize your upcoming week. By spending a little time on tasks like goal reflection, decluttering, and planning, you pave the way for smoother, more productive days.
A weekly reset checklist aims to create a positive mindset that extends from your reset day throughout the entire week. So I wanted to share a very simple weekly reset checklist that you can adjust to your lifestyle. You do not need to do all 15 steps – just choose a few that you feel like would work best for you and would make a huge difference to your week.
Do let me know in the comments below what you do during your weekly reset that helps you have productive days!
This post is all about a weekly reset checklist!

Why Is A Weekly Reset Important?
A weekly reset is important as it contributes to both mental and physical well-being, improves productivity, and helps maintain a balanced and organized lifestyle. Below are some reasons why creating a weekly reset routine is so important:
- It allows you to review and assess your goals, celebrate achievements, and learn from challenges.
- Regular reflection helps you identify anything that may need adjustment and improvement.
- Clearing your physical space through decluttering and organizing enhances focus and productivity.
- Planning health-related activities like exercise and meal planning promotes physical well-being.
- Planning your tasks and setting goals for the week provides clarity and direction.
- Breaking down larger tasks into manageable tasks and spreading them across the week helps prevent burnout.
- The routine encourages a mindful approach to managing responsibilities, reducing feelings of being overwhelmed.

Weekly Review Checklist
1. Review Your Goals
Assess the progress of the goals you set for the previous week. See if you have achieved a weekly goal that will help you meet your overall goal – this will help you plan out your goals for the following week.
If you have not met that goal, it is ok! You can try again the following week. Do not give up!
2. Celebrate Achievements
Acknowledge and celebrate your accomplishments, no matter how small. This is so important because to start a new week with a positive mindset you need to acknowledge that you have done everything you can that week to accomplish your goals/tasks. Even if you did not meet your goal or complete all your tasks, still celebrate because at least you tried!
3. Journal

Take a moment to reflect on the past week. Jot down any challenges you encountered, and how you felt throughout the week, and consider what you can do in the new week to enhance your well-being.
I’ve created my very own gratitude journal with a dedicated weekly reflection page. If you’re in the U.S., you can find it by clicking HERE. 4. Declutter Workspace

If you’re working from home, tidy up your workspace or living area for a fresh and organized start to the upcoming workweek. A neat space not only looks good but also helps you think clearly, stay focused, and boost your productivity levels. It’s a simple way to set the stage for a more effective and enjoyable work routine.
5. Clean And Organize
Give your surfaces a good wipe, file those documents, and tidy up your belongings. As I always say, a clean house equals a clear mind. It’s not just about a tidy space; it’s about thinking clearly, reducing stress and anxiety, and mentally preparing yourself for a positive new week.
6. Laundry

Ensure all your clothes are washed and neatly put away for the week ahead, making your mornings hassle-free when deciding what to wear.
I usually tackle this on Friday or Saturday, giving our clothes enough time to dry. Doing this not only ensures a smoother start to the new week but also prevents a laundry mountain from forming by Monday. Taking care of it beforehand means less stress and more time for what matters.

7. Set Goals

Each week, aim for a new goal or stick with a small, consistent one that contributes to achieving your larger goals. Whether it’s a New Year’s resolution or any other goal, break it down into manageable monthly and weekly targets.
For instance, if your focus is on incorporating more plant-based meals into your diet, set a weekly goal to try at least one new plant-based recipe. This could be as simple as finding a recipe, gathering the ingredients, and jotting it down in your weekly meal plan. These small, regular goals pave the way for accomplishing your broader aspirations, making progress more achievable and enjoyable.
8. Schedule Your Tasks
Use a planner or digital tools (e.g. Google Calendar) to schedule your tasks. Time blocking everything ensures you’re on top of your game and gets things done for sure. It’s no use setting goals and creating to-do lists for the week if you don’t slot them into your schedule.
When you assign a specific time to your tasks, you’re more likely to follow through and tick them off your list. It’s the simple trick to turning goals into accomplishments.
So make sure to add scheduling tasks to your weekly planning checklist!
9. Prioritize Activities
Identify the top-priority tasks and set aside time for them each day. This ensures that even if you can’t finish everything on your to-do list for the day or week, you’ve still tackled the most crucial tasks. Whatever’s left undone can easily be rolled over to the next week’s to-do list. It’s a simple way to prioritize and stay on track without feeling overwhelmed.
10. Plan Your Workouts

If you want to become fit and healthy and stay consistent then planning your workouts needs to be part of your weekly reset routine.
Planning your workouts is the best way to achieve your fitness goals and get those workouts done during the week. Schedule your workouts for the week in your calendar, specifying what you’ll focus on each day, like upper body and core on Mondays and full body on Tuesdays.
Allocate the time you need and stick to it. If staying consistent with working out is a challenge, check out this blog post HERE where I’ve shared some tips that have kept me on track with my fitness routine.
11. Meal Plan/Prep
On a Saturday or Sunday, take a moment to plan out your entire week’s meals, including breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even a snack. This simple practice not only helps you stick to a healthy eating plan for the week but also ensures you have everything you need by doing your food shopping during the weekend. This proactive approach prevents impulsive takeout choices.
If your work schedule is hectic and cooking during the week feels like a challenge, consider meal prepping. Invest 2-3 hours during the weekend in preparing your meals. It’s a time-efficient strategy that sets you up for a week of healthy eating without the stress of last-minute decisions.

12. Sleep Routine

Keep your well-being in check by sticking to a regular sleep schedule. When planning your tasks, be sure to plan out 1-2 hours for downtime. This allows you to focus on a simple night routine, recharging and relaxing, ensuring you hit the hay early and maintain that consistency for your overall well-being. It’s a small adjustment with big benefits for a good night’s sleep and a refreshed you.

13. Unplug
Pick a day, maybe Saturdays, to completely unplug from your phones. Spend that time relaxing and enjoying moments with your family, away from the potential stressors that could affect your mood.
I’ve found this simple practice to be a game-changer for my mental health, reducing stress and anxiety. It’s a fantastic way to recharge and relax, far more effective than spending the majority of your time glued to your phone. Give it a try; your mind will thank you.
14. Email And Notifications
Give your email inbox a good clear-out and change those notification settings for a less distracting week. This is especially crucial during the evenings, allowing you to focus on yourself and enjoy a relaxing night.
Make it a routine to adjust these settings every day of the week, giving yourself the chance to unplug and recharge regularly. It’s a simple switch that can make your evenings more peaceful and set the tone for a refreshed start each day.
15. Read/Listen To Something Inspirational
Set aside some time to read a book or listen to a podcast that sparks inspiration and motivation. Look for something that aligns with your goals. If you’re into personal development, a game-changer for me was “Atomic Habits” by James clear (link). Explore more inspiring books in my Amazon storefront HERE, where you’ll find books to boost your knowledge and get you closer to your goals. It’s a simple yet effective way to feed your mind and fuel your journey to success.
