Nutty Granola Recipe
Ingredients Needed
- Organic jumbo oats – I used gluten-free
- Mixed raw nuts of your choice – I used a mix of almonds, hazelnuts, cashews, and pecan
- Pecan – I added extra pecan because I LOVE lots of pecan in my granola so this is optional but I highly recommend adding extra because the taste when they are roasted is INSANE!
- Sunflower seeds
- Pumpkin seeds
- Organic coconut sugar – This is optional but I just feel like it gives the granola the most incredible taste and smell
- Milled Flaxseed
- Ground cinnamon
- Sea salt/Himalayan salt – I do not recommend using table salt as it is processed and has additives even though we only use a bit of it
- Organic coconut oil
- Organic maple syrup – not pancake syrup or any other maple syrup that isn’t 100% maple syrup
- Smooth peanut butter – make sure it is 100% peanut butter as this is the healthiest
How To Make The Best Gluten-Free Nutty Granola Recipe
- Begin by preheating your oven and gathering your granola ingredients.
- In a large bowl, combine the oats, mixed nuts, pecans, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, organic coconut sugar, flaxseed, cinnamon, and sea salt.
- In a small saucepan, melt the coconut oil on the stove. Then, add the maple syrup and heat it for a minute or two until it starts to gently bubble. Remove it from the heat. The aroma will be simply amazing, adding to the granola’s deliciousness.
- Pour the warm mixture over the dry ingredients in the bowl. Add peanut butter and stir until everything is thoroughly combined. You’ll notice the color change as a sign of proper mixing.
- Line a large flat tray with a non-stick baking sheet. If your tray isn’t large enough, you may need to do this in two batches.
- Spread the granola mixture evenly on the tray, pressing it down gently.
- Place the tray in the preheated oven.
- Once the granola is cooked to perfection, remove it from the oven and let it cool for about 10-20 minutes before consuming.
- Once it’s cooled down, store your super nutty granola in airtight containers for freshness.

Do You Add Raw Or Roasted Nuts To Granola?
If you only have roasted nuts on hand, you can certainly incorporate them into your granola. It’s best to add them after baking to prevent any burning. However, I must note that using roasted nuts isn’t my top recommendation because many of them come with added salt. For a healthier option, I suggest using raw organic nuts and mixing them into the granola mixture before baking. This way, you’ll achieve that roasted nut flavor without the unwanted saltiness, making your granola even healthier.
How To Serve Your Super Nutty Granola
There are several ways to serve your granola and these are my top 4 ways:

How To Store
Storing homemade granola is easy and essential for maintaining its freshness. Here’s how to do it:
- Cool Completely: Before storing, ensure your homemade granola has cooled down completely. This prevents moisture buildup inside the container.
- Choose an Airtight Container: Opt for an airtight container with a secure seal. Mason jars, plastic or glass containers (like this one HERE that I have) with tight-fitting lids, or resealable bags work well. The key is to keep air out. I have linked a few options below for you!
- Keep it Dry: Moisture is the enemy of granola. Make sure the container is bone dry before adding your granola, and ensure the granola itself is also free from any moisture or condensation.
