Meat Stuffed Pita Recipe
Ingredients Needed To Make Arayes
- Grated white onion
- Chopped fresh parsley
- Garlic cloves
- Ground beef
- Paprika
- Ground cumin
- Mixed spice
- Ground coriander
- Onion powder
- Garlic powder
- Salt
- Ground black pepper
- Pita bread (cut in halves or quarters)
- Butter (for brushing the pita)

How To Make Lebanese Arayes
- Grate the onion and squeeze out as much liquid as possible using a sieve—this helps prevent the pita bread from getting soggy.
- Finely mince the garlic and chop the parsley, then the onion, garlic, and parsley to the ground beef along with all the spices. Mix everything together thoroughly until well combined.
- Cut each pita bread in half (or quarters depending on how big your pitas are) and gently open them to create pockets.

- Stuff each pocket with the spiced meat mixture—around a heaping spoonful per half. You want just the right amount of filling: not too thick so it cooks evenly, but enough to make it satisfyingly meaty.

- Preheat a pan over medium heat. Lightly brush both sides of the stuffed pita with olive oil or melted butter, then place them in the pan. Cook for about 2–4 minutes on each side in medium low heat, until the bread is golden and crispy. For extra flavor and to ensure the meat is cooked through, quickly sear the open side (where the meat is visible) for another minute or so.
