Why You’ll Love This Easy Ginger Shot Recipe
- Not only will it support your immune system, but it is packed with many health benefits such as improvement in digestion, boosts metabolism, supports weight loss/weight management when combined with a balanced diet and exercise, and helps reduce blood sugar levels.
- It is also so easy and quick to make! It takes me 10-15 minutes to prepare it so if you are worried that it will take up a lot of your time then trust me it won’t!
- Homemade ginger shots are cheaper than store-bought. And in my opinion, this recipe tastes so much better than store-bought ginger shots!
Ingredients You Need And Ginger Shot Benefits:
Carrots:
Carrots are not just great for your eyes but they also help boost your immune system. They are rich in beta-carotene (this converts into vitamin A) which helps improve the body’s defense against diseases and strengthens your immune response. Not only are carrots amazing for your immune system but they are high in Vitamin C which contributes to collagen production. This promotes glowing young-looking skin.
Lemons:
Lemons are a classic go-to for anyone looking to boost their immune system. They are high in Vitamin C which helps produce more white blood cells, and this increases your body’s ability to fight off infection (my biology lessons are paying off). They are also great for your digestive system!
Ginger:
Ginger is like magic for your body and has been known for its medicinal properties for centuries! It is known to help your body fight inflammation and provides antioxidants that give your immune system extra support. It is also known to soothe sore throats, reduce nausea, and support respiratory health.
Cayenne pepper:
Everyone adds different spices to their ginger shot, such as turmeric and/or black pepper. But watching many of Baraba O’Niell’s videos, I’ve learned how amazing cayenne pepper can be for your body. It has many health benefits such as containing anti-inflammatory properties, and antibacterial properties, as well as, improving digestion.
Cayenne pepper also has high amounts of vitamin C which helps to support the immune system and protect the body against infection.

How To Make This Easy Ginger Shot Recipe
- Wash your carrots, lemons, and ginger well. Make sure you scrub the ginger very well as you will be keeping the skin on.
- Peel the carrots and lemon and cut the carrots in half so it fits inside the juicer.
- Juice the lemons and the ginger and pour them into a bottle or jug. Then start juicing the carrots. Pour the carrot juice into the bottle/jug.
- Add the cayenne pepper to the juice and mix well so it is well combined. I usually close the bottle and shake it well. But if you poured the juice into a jug, just grab a large spoon and mix it.
- Once you have done that, pour it into the 60ml glass ginger shot bottles so it is ready for you to grab and drink. You only need 60ml each day, so these bottles are worth every penny! Plus, if you are in a rush in the morning and need to head out, you can easily pop them into your bag and drink whenever you are ready.
- Pop the bottles in the fridge and consume within 5 days.
- It is that easy!

Other Variations:
- Instead of cayenne pepper, you can add 1/4 tsp of turmeric and/or black pepper.
- You can also add oranges for extra vitamin C which is perfect for your immune system. I have also shared two other variations in this blog post HERE.
How To Make Ginger Shots With A Blender
Before I invested in a juicer, I used to make my ginger shots in a blender without carrots. It was a little more time-consuming, which is why if you’re thinking of getting a juicer then I highly recommend it. But you can definitely make this ginger shot recipe with a blender!
I found a recipe that is a little similar to mine which uses a blender. Here are the instructions to make a ginger shot with a blender. But to put it simply, cut your carrots and ginger into small chunks, juice your lemons, add 3/4 cup of water or coconut water, cayenne pepper, and blend well. Once it is done, strain it through a sieve to get all the juice out.
