Love Ferrero Rocher? Then you must try these healthier and homemade Ferrero Rocher balls that only require 5 ingredients and take 10 minutes to make!

I have a serious weakness for any chocolate that includes nuts, and Ferrero Rochers is definitely at the top of my favorites list. Recently, I decided to try to create a healthier version of homemade Ferrero Rocher, not really knowing what to expect. To my pleasant surprise, they turned out so delicious that they disappeared by the end of the day!
You might be wondering, homemade Ferrero Rocher? Isn’t that difficult to make? I had the same thought, but these turned out to be incredibly easy. As a busy woman juggling motherhood and blogging, I always appreciate recipes that are both tasty and quick to make. These homemade Ferrero Rocher balls fit the bill perfectly, and I’m planning to include them in my regular snack rotation.
With just 5 simple ingredients (or 6 if you choose to add toppings like the coconut desiccated that I used), you can whip up these delightful treats in just 10 to 30 minutes. If you opt to coat them in melted chocolate and let them harden in the fridge (which I highly recommend), it might take 30 minutes in total, but it’s totally worth it. But if not then they’ll just take 10-15 minutes.
I’m confident that you’ll love these homemade Ferrero Rocher balls and be pleasantly surprised by how good they taste. I’d be thrilled to hear your thoughts, so please leave a rating and comment below. Let’s share the joy of enjoying a healthier, delicious snack without sacrificing precious time, especially for those of you with busy lifestyles.

Homemade Ferrero Rocher

Why You Need To Try These Homemade Ferrero Rocher Balls
- Super easy to make
- Only needs 5 simple ingredients
- No baking required
- Healthy compared to the real Ferrero Rochers
Ingredients Needed To Make Homemade Ferrero Rocher
- Medjool Dates: These add a natural sweetness and a gooey texture, making them a perfect choice for a healthier treat.
- Hazelnuts: Opt for roasted hazelnuts, readily available in many stores. If you get them raw, a quick roast in the oven enhances the Ferrero Rocher flavour, giving your homemade version that rich taste.
- Dark Chocolate: For a healthier twist, choose dark chocolate. However, the choice is yours! It goes into the food processor for the mix and can also be used to coat the homemade Ferrero Rocher balls, a step I highly recommend for extra indulgence.
- Maple Syrup: Ensure it’s pure maple syrup. This sweet addition enhances the overall flavour. Feel free to switch it up with pure vanilla extract or agave nectar if you prefer.
- Coconut Oil: This is used to melt the chocolate, adding extra smoothness to the mix.
- Coconut Desiccated: Optional, but a delightful topping if you’re looking to add a bit of coconut crunch. Perfect for those who want a mix of half chocolate-covered and half coconut-covered Ferrero Rocher goodness.

How To Make Homemade Ferrero Rocher
- Combine your chocolate with coconut oil and melt in a saucepan or microwave – you’ll use it both in the food processor and for coating the balls.
- In a powerful blender or food processor, add in your pitted Medjool dates, around 2-3 tbsp of melted chocolate, and hazelnuts. Blend until it forms a slightly sticky dough/batter. If it seems too dry, a tablespoon of milk can do the trick.
- Transfer the date dough to a plate or bowl and let it set in the fridge for 10-15 minutes.
- While waiting, chop up some hazelnuts and remelt the chocolate if needed.
- Take the dough out and roll about 10 balls. Press a hazelnut into each one (check the picture below for reference) and give them a good roll. Then, dip five of them in chopped hazelnuts and melted chocolate, and the other five in coconut desiccated.
- Place the balls in the fridge for 20 minutes or until the chocolate has hardened. Even if you skip the chocolate topping, a quick 10-minute chill enhances the flavour.
- Enjoy your easy homemade Ferrero Rocher balls!

Storage
Keep these Ferrero Rocher balls fresh by storing them in the fridge in an airtight container – they can last up to a week. Although let’s be real, they’re so delicious that they probably won’t stick around for that long!
And if you’re feeling like prepping ahead, go ahead and freeze them. When you’re ready to indulge, just let them thaw at room temperature for a few hours.
