Healthy Breakfast Recipes With Simple Ingredients
1. Sourdough Bread And Nut Butter
Ingredients:
- 1 large or 2 medium sourdough bread slices
- 100% nut butter
- 1 small ripe banana
- 1/2 tbsp melted Nutella
- 1 tsp chia seeds
Instructions:
- Place the sourdough bread to toast on a grill (this will make it nice and crispy)
- Remove the bread once it’s nice and golden on both sides
- Spread peanut butter on the bread
- Place sliced banana slices on top
- Drizzle melted Nutella on top with a spoon
- Add chia seeds on top
2. Bagel French Toast
Ingredients:
- 1 bagel
- 1-2 eggs
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- toppings of your choice (I prefer to drizzle melted biscoff spread and slices of banana)
Instructions:
- Combine your egg mixture with some cinnamon
- Dip the bagel slice in the egg mixture and ensure its fully covered
- Fry in a pan until its golden
- Add your toppings
3. Superfood Bowl
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup homemade nutty granola (click HERE for a quick and easy homemade granola recipe that is so healthy and delicious)
- 1/2 banana
- Berries of your choice (I usually just add a handful of blueberries- you can add any or as many different types)
- 1 tsp of hemp seeds, chia seeds, cocoa nibs, and sesame seeds
- 150-200 ml of milk of your choice (I use full fat milk)
Instructions:
- Add the granola and fruits to a bowl
- Add in your super seeds
- Pour in the milk
- Enjoy!
4. Date Smoothie
Ingredients:
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 or 1 1/2 cup milk of choice (I use almond milk)
- 2 pitted Medjool dates
- 1/2 cup oats
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp organic peanut butter
- 1/2 tsp chia, hemp, and flax seed
Instructions
- Add everything to a blender until smooth
- Enjoy!
5. Baked Oats
I have shared a recipe for this before so I will link it HERE for you to have a look! This is perfect for meal prepping. You can make this the night before and have enough for the week! Just make sure that once it has cooled down, you store in a container and place it in the fridge.
6. Shakshuka

Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 red pepper
- 1 medium onion
- 2-3 vine tomatoes
- 1 tbsp tomato purée
- 1/2 tsp salt, black pepper, paprika, and cumin
- 1 tsp honey
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 2 eggs
- 2 slices sourdough bread
Instructions:
- Cover the pan with olive oil on low heat
- Add diced onions and pepper to the pan
- Let it cook for about 3 minutes or until a little soft and then add spices and cook for another 2-3 minutes
- Add in chopped tomatoes and let it cook a bit
- Add in the tomato purèe and honey and mix
- Add hot water
- Cover and let it cook until the tomatoes are soft – mix every 2-3 minutes to slightly mash the tomatoes
- Once cooked, add in your eggs – make sure they’re slightly spaced out
- Cover the pan and cook until you are satisfied with how the egg is cooked – either runny or fully cooked
- Grill the sourdough bread in the oven and serve with the shakshuka
7. Smoothie Bowl
Ingredients:
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup of frozen berries (I added strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries)
- 1 cup almond milk (or milk of your choice)
- A handful of no added sugar granola (click HERE for the recipe)
- Fresh berries of your choice
- 1/2 tsp Ceylon cinnamon
- 1 tsp pure maple syrup
Instructions:
- Blend all the ingredients until smooth
- Pour into a bowl
- Add some granola and fresh berries on top
