Discover the best restaurants in Doha! Explore our top picks for an unforgettable trip from delicious budget-friendly spots to must-try desserts!
Doha is known for its incredible food scene, offering many restaurants with delicious dishes. While many of these spots can be quite expensive, we discovered some fantastic budget-friendly restaurants in Doha that save you money and serve truly delicious meals. This blog post shares the best restaurants in Doha we tried during our stay.
In addition to highlighting our top picks, I’ve also included a list of a few other food spots we tried that didn’t quite meet our expectations. I’ve mentioned them just in case you’d like to give them a go—after all, everyone has different tastes!
If you’re looking to save even more money on food during your trip, I highly recommend booking a hotel with at least breakfast included. For our 5-night stay, we added both breakfast and dinner for an extra £45, which is about the same price as one-two meals out for the three of us each day in Doha.
This allowed us to enjoy breakfast and dinner at our hotel while exploring Doha’s food scene for lunch. It’s a simple way to balance trying local cuisine with sticking to your budget.

Affordable Restaurants In Doha
1. Lamazani, Souq Ali
We visited a few places around Doha, but one of the best restaurants in Doha that we went to was located in Souq Ali, called ‘Lamazani’. They have a few different branches around Doha and tried one near our hotel, but the one in Souq Ali stood out for its incredible flavours! The meat, chips, and bread were absolutely packed with flavor—every bite was a delight.
We ordered the mixed grill, which came with Persian bread, and chips, and also ordered a side of yogurt sauce for dipping. The combination was so delicious that it made the trip to Souq Ali completely worth it! If you’re looking for a meal that’s both budget-friendly and bursting with flavour, this spot is a must-try.
2. Milk Bun, Place Vendome Mall
Located inside Place Vendome Mall, Milk Bun is an incredibly Instagram-worthy spot with a soft pink aesthetic. Known for its burgers and unique milk ice cream with a cookie, this place is a must-visit.
We tried both a beef burger and their signature milk chicken burger, and they were absolutely delicious. But what really impressed us were the chips—served with a creamy white milk sauce and crispy onions. Honestly, they were some of the best chips we’ve ever had!
For dessert, we had the famous milk ice cream with a cookie. While it was definitely tasty, I’d say it was a bit overhyped—but still totally worth trying.
3. Bandar Aden Restaurant, Souq Waqif
There are so many restaurants in Souq Waqif, but this one immediately caught our eye. We hadn’t planned to eat there—just strolling through and passing by so many tempting spots. When we saw some people enjoying delicious-looking food, we saved the location on Google Maps and decided to come back the next evening for dinner.
It turned out to be such a great choice! The food was not only affordable but incredibly delicious. We ordered their most popular dish, Zerbaian meat, which included lamb, rice, and potato. They mentioned it was good for two people, but the portion was massive—easily enough for 4–5 people—and it only cost 60 QAR (around £13). The lamb was perfectly cooked, so tender it was falling apart. We still wish we had gone back for another meal!

4. Crust By Rusk, Al Khail St
Located on Al Khail Street, Crust by Rusk is well-known for its sourdough pizzas, though they do offer other food options too. We tried two of their popular pizzas—the buffalo chicken and another chicken option (can’t remember the name)—along with a side of chips. The buffalo chicken pizza was delicious, but overall, the place felt a bit overhyped.
That said, it’s still a great spot for a casual lunch in Doha! The area is modern and beautiful, with other food spots nearby to explore.
5. Q Lounge, Banana Island
This restaurant is located on Banana Island, a spot I highly recommend visiting (check out my Things to Do in Doha blog post for more details). With the day pass to Banana Island, you receive vouchers, such as food vouchers worth 200 QAR (around £40) per person. We chose to dine at Q Lounge, one of the island’s restaurants, and it completely exceeded our expectations.
If you’re searching for the best Indian restaurants in Doha, this is one to add to your list! We had some credit left from our vouchers, so we ordered dessert—and I’m still dreaming about the Umm Ali. This Egyptian dessert stole my heart; it was absolutely delicious!
Set by the pool, the restaurant’s atmosphere, food quality, and service were nothing short of luxurious. It’s an experience I’d highly recommend!
6. B Laban
If you’re looking for dessert spots in Doha, you absolutely have to try this place! They have several locations across the city, so any of them would be a great choice. Plus, they’re opening in London soon, which we’re super excited about!
This was hands-down the best dessert place we’ve ever been to. We loved it so much that we went back the very next day—and honestly, we wanted to go every day but couldn’t because our itinerary was packed, and we wanted to try other spots. Still, we wished we had made more time for it!
They offer a range of popular desserts, but we tried the chocolate Kunefe crepe and the mango milk cake. Both were incredible, but the mango milk cake was the real star—refreshing, perfectly balanced, and not overly sweet. It was so good we came back just for it the next day.
This is easily the best dessert spot we visited in Doha, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone with a sweet tooth!
Other Doha Restaurants To Try:
While this post focuses on the best restaurants in Doha, we did try a few other spots that didn’t make the main list but might still be worth checking out if you’re curious!
- The Cheesecake Factory, Villagio Mall: We only tried dessert here, so I can’t comment on the food. We ordered the cinnamon roll cheesecake, which started off great but became a bit too much after a few bites—overall, I’d give it a 6/10. I’ve heard the food is decent, but the portions are huge, as you’d expect from an American chain.
- Dave’s Hot Chicken, Villagio Mall: Honestly, we found this spot a bit overrated, though it might just have been an off day. We tried their most popular chicken burger with chips, but it didn’t quite hit the mark for us. If you’re looking for a really good burger, I’d recommend Milk Bun instead!
- Qatari Crepe (Ragag) in Souq Waqif: Souq Waqif has stalls run by women making ragag, a thin and crispy Qatari-style crepe. We decided to try one with Nutella, though you can also get it with cheese. While it was interesting to try, we felt it didn’t live up to the hype.
