Make an easy and authentic Adana kebab recipe at home. Quick, flavorful, and perfect for family dinners with versatile serving options!

We absolutely love Turkish food, and whenever we eat out, it’s usually our go-to cuisine. However, dining out can get expensive, so I started recreating popular Turkish meals at home. One of our favorites has been this Adana kebab recipe, which has quickly become an obsession—we’ve been enjoying it for dinner at least once a week!
This recipe is super easy, quick to make, and tastes just as good as Adana kebabs from a great restaurant. Traditionally, Adana kebabs are made using flat kebab skewers, which help shape the meat perfectly. While I’ve managed without them, the skewers do make a difference in getting that classic long, flat shape. If you’re struggling with the shaping, I’d definitely recommend picking up some skewers—they’ll make things even easier!
This Adana kebab recipe is sure to become a family favorite, just like it has in our home. The best part? You can serve it in so many different ways! In this post, I’ll walk you through the Adana kebab ingredients, the step-by-step process, and a variety of serving ideas to inspire you.
I hope you enjoy this recipe as much as we do! I’d love to hear your thoughts, so don’t forget to leave a rating and comment on this post. And if you share your creations on Instagram, be sure to tag me @lotsoflovemariam—I can’t wait to see your recreations!

Adana Kebab Recipe
Adana Kebab Ingredients
- Beef mince
- Onions
- Red pepper
- Tomato puree/paste
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Fresh coriander
- Spices: salt, black pepper, sumac, cumin, chili powder

How To Make Adana Kebab
- Start by using a mini food processor or chopper to finely blend the pepper and onions until they’re completely blended.
- Once blended, strain out all the juice thoroughly. Add the strained mixture to the beef mince, then mix in the tomato purée, olive oil, and all the spices. Combine everything well until fully incorporated.
- For shaping, a flat skewer is highly recommended to give the kebabs an authentic Adana kebab look and make the process easier. If you don’t have one, no problem—grab a handful of the mixture and press it with both hands to shape it into a long, nearly flat kebab, as if molding it onto a skewer.
- Place the kebabs on a grill tray or a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Preheat your oven to 180°C, then bake for 8 minutes on one side.
- Flip them carefully and cook for another 8 minutes on the other side. Be sure not to overcook, as this can dry out the kebabs.
- Let them rest for 3–5 minutes before lifting to ensure they hold their shape.
- Serve with a side of kebab wraps or Turkish bulgur for a complete and delicious meal!

What To Serve Your Turkish Adana Kebab
- Wrapped in Flatbread: Serve in warm flatbread, topped with fresh lettuce, sliced onions, tomatoes, and a drizzle of garlic yogurt.
- With Turkish Bulgur Pilaf: Pair with Turkish-style bulgur pilaf for a hearty and traditional combination. Add a side of grilled vegetables for extra flavour.
- On a Salad: Serve over some lettuce, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, and red onions. Drizzle with a lemony olive oil dressing.
- As a Kebab Platter: Serve with a mix of dips like hummus, and tzatziki, along with pita bread or naan.
- With Fries or Potato Wedges: Pair with crispy fries or seasoned potato wedges for a more casual meal.
- In a Sandwich: Stuff into a baguette or pita pocket with your favorite veggies and sauces for a quick, portable meal.
